Three Updates and a Wedding.

The last while for us has been a foxtrot of events and emotions; quick quick slow.

Hours of doctors visits and phone calls to get ready for chemo/radiation therapy which starts on October 10th and will last for 6 weeks straight. We also fought the disappointment of getting to the last step in a possible clinical trial only to be turned away because the tumor is too extensive for a surgical trial.

On the brighter or “quick” side of things, Marcy and I were incredibly blessed to keep our ceremony plans and celebrate with our friends and family for our wedding on Saturday, September 24th, and then to enjoy our honeymoon in Saugatuck. It was strange to sit with this news and yet sweet and poignant.

Our photographer gave us a few photos for a “sneak peak” to hold us over until she’s able to edit the rest in the coming months.

Marcy and I also have been blessed regarding the brain cancer; after much research and helpful referrals from her family we connected with a God-sent non-profit that will not only help us navigate clinical trials but help advocate for us. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Cassie Latino from the Brain Cancer Network. She was the angel on the line who gave us more information and support than we’ve felt from a single person on our medical team. It’s not to say that they aren’t good at what they do, they are, but they have the empathy of a cactus.

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who helped with the wedding (forgive us if we missed anyone, we have the gift of having so many incredible people in our lives that we may miss someone who deserves to be thanked)

This journey is more of a rollercoaster than we expected, and yet has so many bright spots we can’t predict. Thank you to all of you who read this and who continue to support us on this path.

Last update is we’ve created a GoFundMe to help with expenses for medical/travel for clinical trials for us to kick this brain cancer’s butt.

Here is the link if you’re able to donate - please do not feel pressured, and know that every amount that is donated we greatly appreciate.

Thanks again!
